Hi, I am interested in increasing my knowledge of certain species, specifically agkistrodon piscivorus and bitis arietans as well as dispholidus typus. I have seen some books in the reviews section of the website that seem very interesting but unfortunately I don't have the necessary funds to purchase those items so I was hoping someone could recommend some websites or other books that would be informative. Also if anyone is a current resident of Wisconsin and is interested in conserving the Butler's Garter Snake, which they are trying to take off the protected species list, let me know and I will e-mail you the necessary information. Also are there any Zoos or whatever that anyone would recommend visiting in the U.S. that have a good reptile exhibit? Thanks for everything!
sincerely,
Dave

Dave : If you want to get some good info on Agkistrodon piscivorous, I would suggest either Buying or Looking up at your local Library the Book Snakes of the Agkistrodon Complex. It is one of the best Books out there on the Habits and Life History of Genera Agkistrodon, and its Related Species.
I have read the Book and would recommend it to anyone wanting to learn about my Favorite Species, the Cottonmouth.
I didn’t Buy the Book tho, I just checked it out from a Library.
Good luck, hope you can find this Book and I hope you don’t have to dish out the $75-$100 it cost to Buy it “LOL”.
Be Safe Ya’ll, Happy Herping : Wally

Dave, you should try your local library and if they don't have the books you need they can probably get them through interlibrary loan. The charges are usually not too steep and you can copy what you want.
