I went to Lake Okeechobee yesterday with my friend Bill Cope, and we hunted alot of the region. I have never flipped so much cover in one day before. The results were a real nice female Florida King, a juvenile Everglades Ratsnake, three Southern Black Racers, some Five-Lined skinks, many small Gecko species, and five Marine Toads. I did not expect the Marine Toads under a wide piece of vinyl hose. They are about 5-6 inches already. We took alot of pictures and will be posting them as soon as the film is developed.
Happy New Year!

Paul, thanks for the invite! Sure wish I had time off from work that I could use for a Florida winter herping trip!
I used to make trips to S. Florida and the Keys in December and January, and often found animals still out and about.
I will have to wait until Spring before I have any time for adventures like a herping trip, but perhaps in future years I might be able to make a trip down.
For now, I am really enjoying hearing about the herps you and Bill are stilll seeing!
Best Regards JohnZ
