I would just add two pieces of advice.
1) Get at least one more snake hook the same size as your longest one (is it really 48" or is it 40") and start now pracitcing with using two hooks to handle your agkistrodons (if they're not TOO small). You'll need two with either of these snakes in a few years and it will take some practice to get used to. You might just find that it makes things easier with the smaller snakes too.
2) Look at how much space you have to move in your hot room/area. You'll need more room to work safely with 5 foot WDB when he's having a bad day. That might not be something you've had to worry about before...

Yes, the one I have is really 48" maybe even slightly bigger, never measured for sure but it is bigger then my 46" hook. My dad made it for me when I got the cottons. I have never worked with a 5ft wdb but I did remove a 3 1/2-4 ft C. viridis off the road. Our "Hot" room is our garage. We have insulated it and added heat to it so it is comfortable for the snakes. We live in an old house so the garage was built a little to small for our SUV to fit. And since our truck wouldn't fit we thoought why not use it for snakes. Plus we are looking at a couple small trailer houses and we are planning on purchasing a trailer house so we have the space for expansion.
