Eeeeello Folks! Great to see some of the old names still here :¬)
I have a question that hopefully someone will know the answer to. I'm about to embark on a breeding project Gabonica and nasicornis, (not hybrids, I will be breeding each species seperately)
I'm curious as to whether these species feed when Gravid. I know that some species avoid food during gestation but how about the large bitis?
Many thanks,
Al

Alan, some of these snakes will continue to feed when gravid, especially in the first month of gestation. It has been my experience that after that they stop feeding until the young are born. Others might have had them continue to feed longer than that. This might be somewhat influenced by the overall health / weight of the female, and what resources she has to develop the young.
Hope this helps.
Best Regards JohnZ

Hi John,
Many thanks for your reply, much appreciated. Also, do you know the length of gestation in gabonica and nasicornis?
All the best,
Alan
