Hey,
For those in canebrake/diamondback range:
If you see any roadkills this spring that are FRESH and there isn't any damage in the rear half of the body I need a few for dissections. I need both males and females. The heads can be pretty messed up, as long as the reproductive tract is untouched.
I know its a little early, but if you happen upon something keep me in mind.
Thanks
Chad

Sure Chad,
but what do you have up your sleeve? First the AI question a few weeks back, now the roadkills for reproductive examination. Are you trying to make them reproduce from the grave? ;)
If I see any that meet your criteria, I'll let you know. It's mostly C. horridus in my neck of the woods, though...

I think that Chad has been watching Dr. Alphonse Mephisto on South Park again, and wants to Clone Hybrid Rattlesnakes !
Stuff like Diamond-Brake Rattlesnakes, and Eastern-Diamond-Cane Rattlesnakes !

actually, I want to look for myself to see the best route for injection when I try to inseminate the females and consider the *slight* possibility of using a micro pipette or feline urinary catheter to *maybe* catheterize a vas deferens and massage out the semen.
some anatomical illustrations might also be the result of said dissections :-)

Chad, I usually carry a cooler with me just for picking up road-kills. If I find any good fresh rattlesnakes, I will save them for you.
Best Regards JohnZ
