Remove the objects that could be rubbed on. Screen tops many times are a source of abbrasion. First and foremost keep the enclosure clean. Clean newspaper substrate should be maintained daily. Fresh water daily or even changed multiple times daily as needed. The area affected may be wiped with peroxide diluted 1 to 1 with H20. A pet store in your area may sell a product for minor skin abrasions in reptiles with a name like wound RX. Buy this medicine and apply it to the affected area as per directions. These medicine are usually in a powder form and are easy, but sometimes a little messy to apply. Pay close attention to the area and the mouth of the snake for signs of secondary infection such as mouth rot. Keep handling down to a minimum to reduce stress and monitor ambient temperature and ensure they are adequate, but not too hot. Do not be concerned too much with feeding. If the snake refuses to eat do not be suprised or upset. In times of stress many snakes will refuse and a otherwise healthy ball python (Python regius) may refuse for month's without substantial issues. Good luck and keep me informed of any developments that I may assist you with.
