I know this is old but I just read it and I am upset. I wrote the writer as well.
Dear Mr. Blackwood,
Hello, I am sure you have had numerous replies concerning your article written February 11, 2007 that either criticized your article, and possibly your person. As a wildlife conservationist I am appalled to see a distinguished columnist as yourself put such ignorance and personal inequalities in a public newspaper. I can’t believe you admitted ignorance and still wrote such pointed, mindless, and hateful silliness. You said rabbits, kittens, and birds are cute I consider them pests. Rabbits damage my grandfathers crops, kittens turn into cats and carry diseases and cause my wife’s allergies to inflame, and birds shit all over anything bellow them with out discrimination. You don’t see me ejaculating my distaste with those critters in the news paper. One more point. Many of those “cute” animals that make you smile so much also inhabit those same holes with rattlesnakes. Thanks for publishing your self proclaimed ignorant and one sided views to an already reptile ignorant public.
