Whoohoo!!! Found first snake of the year!!!!

Actually I found 2 of them but 1 was D.O.A. and then I found 1 very much alive!!! A Redbelly Snake, she is about 8 or 9 inches long.... Cute little critter!!! I hope to find some more things tonight, I might go and flip some car hoods in my uncles junk yard, and it looks like rain tonight?! and it has been above 80 degrees today.... good luck everybody, until then later Shawn

I live in kansas and i found my first snake yesterday to a southern copperhead. its legal to keep these in kansas right since their native their so awesome and pretty i hope so if so this will be my first hot

Not for sure on the laws in KS but, good find non the less. We found 7 snakes today, 3 got away and we caught 4 , 2 Brown water snakes and 2 Queen snakes, 2 big bull frogs... and saw 3 big common snappers, caught 3 stinkpot turtles.. Shawn

Not nearly as exciting, but still fun to see.
Where I live is not a good area for snakes anyway, but I did see an Anole Lizard and an Skink out basking, and I recognise both of them from last year, so that part is pretty cool.

Yay i caught 3 boring garter snakes!! Im goin out in a few weeks when it gets warmer to catch water snakes at Lake Erie up here.

Ok, JohnZ, that is cool.. You been seeing anything interesting down there? I caught 2 more Brown Water snakes, 1 more Queen Snake, I need to catch some more things native to WV, my cuz and I are going to make a film on WV native reptiles, and the local schools are going to present it to the kids, and then have us come in to educate them on these, We already gave them a film on Burms, retics, and Balls, now they want native to WV and maybe some venomous (on film)... So we will see how this summer goes for us?! Shawn

1.1 checkered garters (Thamnophis m. marcianus)
2.1 Emory Rat snakes (Pantherophis g. emoryi)
1.0.1 Ground snake (Sonora semiannulata)
0.1 Great Plains Milk snake (Lampropeltis t.celaenops)
1.0 Yellow bellied Racer (Couluber c. flaviventris)
0.0.4 Diamondback water snake (Nerodia r. rhombifera)
0.1 Graham's Water snake (Regina grahami)
0.0.1 Blotched water snake (Nerodia e. transversa)
1.1 Texas spiny lizard (Sceloporus olivaceus)
0.0.1 Blind snake (Leptotyphlops dulcis)
0.1 Texas Horned lizard (Phynosoma cornutum)
1.1 Common snapping turtle (Chelydra serpentina)
Scores of black widow, Brown recluse, Scorpion, and tarantula!
(and I'm sure Larry will remind me of things I have omitted, I have the attention span of an aquarium fish)
