Dwarfs often come from island localities where they have evolved in isolation eating smaller and different prey items than mainland localities. Their color, pattern and size can be dramaticly different from ther mainland cousins. To my knowledge there are no island anaconda localities. The yellow is smaller than a green, but not a dwarf; just a different sub-species.

karl, you have turned me on to something i didn't know about. since i read your post i have been searching for info on the diamonds from the cays, and i can find nothing. can you point me in a direction to where i could learn more. =) since i know how well you like pygs, you would probably like to see a breeding pair of little diamonds make there way to GA. haha, how big did they report them to get? most feild guide list the botton end of the size range to be about 3 feet. if there were actual dewarfs, would the max at less then 3 feet?
