Arin, you might also want to try soaking the mouse in some warm slightly SALTED water. Do not use table salt though, use sea salt, and damp it dry with a paper towell. I am talking about just a dash of salt dissolved in a soup bowl. The salty taste seems to stimulate some young snakes to bite and hold on. Hope this helps.
