A couple days ago my 13 year old daughter told me " I got to pet a rattlesnake today ! " Her friend's dad found a dead snake up in the rocks somewhere , and for whatever reason , brought it home . Turns out he kept the snake's head held down and let the girls touch the tail . When she first told me , it scared the daylights out of me ! I still told her " only if I'm the one holding the snake ! We live in Prescott , Az . so it was probably a WDB , or possibly a Mojave .

Yeah, if my girls did that to me, I'd probably give them (and the father) the riot act. Like you, I'm the only one whose allowed to let my girls touch anything venomous.

I double checked and made sure , he did hold the snake's head down , and his reason for the whole thing was to show his daughter what to watch for , so I'm not going to get mad , I'm sure Joy crowded right in .
Not sure how much good this will do , there are a LOT of dofferent rattlesnakes in this state , plus the coral . But I'm not seeing it as any harm done .
