Bryan is not making open ended judgements regarding toxicity and is not basing his statements off LD50 or LD100 charts. He is basing this statement off of Mass spectrometry and electrophoresis gels of the venoms in comparison. Toxicity in humans all comes down to the venom yield-The Mojave generally injects more venom than a Tiger causing increased effects. In addition, the mass spectrometry demonstrates the different composition of the different toxins in each snakes venom.
With regards to this Mojave "scratch", I also have to concur with the anaphylaxis scenario. It is well documented that with each subsequent bite and administration of antivenom received, an individual develops an increased sensitivity and potential for an anaphylactic reaction.
