Those of you who can not attend the hearing, and even those who are already giving up without fighting until the end, at least try, send the opposing letter and ask it to be read for the record to this email
CountyBoard@arlingtonva.us
Include your full name, addy and phone

For now, the current thread is running, as it addresses an Legislation Issue that is important, and effects us all. I appreciate all of the passion and concerns.
However, any posts that have profanity, or are personal attacks will be removed, or have allready been removed, from the thread. Having passion for a topic does not allow you to use non appropriate language here. It is not your right to use whatever language you wish on a private site. On a street corner, talk however you please.
This site has a lot of school age kids visit it, and is used by a lot of teachers / educators. I will not allow the cursing and foul comments to continue to degrade this fine site. If your thread is removed, feel free to re-post it without the profanity and personal attacks.
Stick to the topic........
Best Regards JohnZ

I apologize for saying the entire state of VA should fall. Those words were said in frustration to the display going on in this thread. People talking about how they so passionately want to help, yet can't take even the slightest criticism without flying off the deep end. For my quick words, I am sorry.
Maybe the state of VA, before following Arlington's lead and outright banning everything (with no grandfathering clause even?!) could see this as an opportunity for more DNR resources by requiring a permit system. If there are several keepers in the state, a $100-500 per year permit could bring in a lot of money. Just a thought.

MD who told you I was going???? I am in NV, somewhat too far for me to go...and I don't like East coast anyway, too flat, I like desert and big mountains.
I sent my letter to be read for the rewcord at the hearing and I did my letter to the editor for some media exposure, that is actually another good thing, seems like you have media on your side in this case, the editor seems to be a great reasonable guy.

Flat? Only around the ocean, Z. There are plenty of mountains and hills from Ga up.
No deserts, but plenty of sand in some places far from the beach. The weather isn't quite as warm, and not as dry, but quite hilly and scenic. : )

East coast mountains are tiny. I am used to big mountains, I am looking at Mt.Charleston from my bedroom window, almost 12 thousand feet elevation, here is me on top of the Mt. Charleston, just above Las Vegas, NV
