There is a new photo in the Snakes for Identification Album, of a snake that envenomated someone in Malaysia yesterday.
The doctor is asking for help in identifying the snake.

My first impression is that the snake might be the rare Twin Barred Tree Snake "Chrysopelea pelias," however, I do not have a reference book available to check further on this.
The closly related Paradise Tree Snake is known to be highly aggressive, so the Twin Barred Tree Snake might exhibit that same aggressive behavior that was described with the snake chasing the person.
Hopefully, someone will have access to Campbell and Lamar's Book to double check on this.

Also, if the snake does turn out to be Chrysopelea pelias , it will be a rear-fanged opisthoglyph, and be mildly venomous.
The venomom is supposed to only be strong enough to cause swelling and pain, unless the person bitten has an allergic reaction.

Certainly Chrysopelea, but none of my printed references cover this species specifically and all are very thin on other members of the genus. They all use language like "mildly toxic venom" and "not considered dangerous to humans". That's about all I got.
