Personal keeping, I have only kept for 3 Years in one single stretch, but have been Keeping off and on for about 15 Years. The oldest Venomous Snake I had the pleasure of working with was a EDB that was 22 Years Old. She was brought to the Zoo by a man that had spent Years traveling with her in a Reptile Show. I am sure that some of you remember the old traveling shows that showed up at the Carnivals. This big girl was very HOT Tempered and was ready to fight every time you opened her cage door, but her beauty made up for her Killer Attitude.
On a side note, she was large a Snake well over 6 ½ ft. long. with one chunky head and thick body on her. She also made some beautiful babies.
PS: Don’t always be down on these Road-Side Reptile Shows, the dude that brought this big girl to me had some of the healthiest Snakes I have ever seen in captivity. And had some other Venomous and Nonvenomous alike that were just as healthy and as old as this EDB. He told me that he had a Copperhead live 32 Years.
Be Safe Ya’ll, Happy Herping: Wally
