Gaboons are on four of my personal top-ten lists: "Favorite Snakes in General," "Favorite Snakes to Work With," "World's Most Beautiful Snakes" and "Last Snakes I Would Want to Get Bitten By," on which they are right up there at the top. Just read the account of Marlin Perkins' scrape with a Gaboon in the 1930's, and all he did was scratch his thumb on a fang while trying to remove a retained spectacle.
That said, I have never had a domestic dispute with a Gaboon or any other type of snake, and find them all to be far more peaceable, easier to live with and much less treacherous than my ex....
