I was sitting on my porch the other day (wednesday) and animal control pulls up. I think great, they are after my snakes as i recently purchased a hot. He did indee want to look at my snakes but only because he is also a keeper of hots and large constrictors. The reason he was there was because I own a Pit Bull puppy. I was shocked. In my possetion I have a reptile that can cause your didgets and flesh to basicley rot off you if bitten yet mu neighbors fear a 4 month old pup. it is not realey hot related just wondering if you all have had anything like this happen ?

I don't have exactly the same story, but I've had animal control pay a visit, becuase they wanted to see some examples of properly secure hot caging. That's been many years ago though. The county I live in was thinking about passing some captive wild life laws after some jackazz was keeping a giraff of all things in his back yard. Nothing ever came of any laws regarding exotics. They were just trying to educate themselves, so they would get an idea on the possibolity of creating a permit system.
Also on ocassion they send unwanted pet snakes my way. They only deal with cats and dogs, no reptiles of any kind.

I also do not raise hots, but I do raise some very large constrictors. I am 32, and have been also raising Pitsbulls and Boxers since I was 7. I absolutely hate the stereo type that goes with Pits. I have never had a Pit show an ounce of aggression, particularly because of the way they are raised. I have many friends that have been bitten by "yap" dogs, Chows and Shepards. Any dog will turn in you if you treat it like shi*. And yes, I have small children that are raised with my dogs. The idiots that breed these dogs for fighting are ruining it for the rest of us...sound farmiliar to any hot keepers ??(not snakes bred for fighting...lol. But hot keepers that make it bad for everyone else)
