Should Pamela Anderson Win Hypocrite of the Year Title?
SNIP
The latest Pamela stunt was selling her “cow leather infested” 2000 Dodge Viper for $65,000, portion of which will be donated to PETA.
According to various news sources “Michael McGraw, spokesman for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, said the group will use the cash to raise awareness about the cruel methods used to skin animals such as snakes and crocodiles, particularly in India.”

The very nature of PETA, and all other Animal Rights groups, along with any people who support them, is in and of itself pure hypocracy! Any organization that KILLS 97% of the animals it takes in, yet tells US that "animals aren't ours to kill, eat, wear", is just evil, period. Pamela Anderson, who has Hepatitis C, uses Interferon, a drug that was developed and tested on ANIMALS, to stay alive. Queen B(I'll let y'all figure out what the "B" stands for)Ingrid Newkirk, who has Type 2 Diabetes(wait, I thought vegan diets were supposed to prevent that?)uses animal-derived insulin to stay alive, yet WE are supposed to avoid animal-tested, animal-derived medicines or health procedures...riiiiighhht.

What is really pathetic is that people in this country care about what folks like Pamela Anderson does !
We need to get over this Paparazzi attitude that what these nitwhits in holloywood do has any meaning at all.
Just ignore the nitwhits.
If they make a good movie, then maybee watch it.
But folks, they are ACTORS !
They are not real !
They are fictions !
Do not let their actions have any meaning in your lives.
Best Regards John Z

Well Cro, ignoring Hollywood idiots will not make the issue go away.
I will not stick my head into the san sand pretend all is good.
We had actor Reagan for pres (he was kind of cool though), Arnold is CA governor, Clint Eastwood was Carmel’s mayor…
Current generations listens to what rock stars are saying…
Anyway, follow the stupid blond trail, in 2000 Tippi Hedren introduced federal Shambala wild animal protection act. She is a failed Hollywood actress who ended up with huge big cat pet collection when her movie Roar failed and became a ‘sanctuary’ to be able to feed her pets at public’s expenses, while trying to ban us.
The senator who introduced this horrible bill was Arizonas own Mc Cain, our current president wannabie. Tippi’s sidekicks in DC were her daughter Melanie Griffith and Bo Derek and that puppet Kermit. Bill didn’t pass, but politicians and Hollywood have lots in common, they are all media whores.
Anyway, future is not good considering who is running for pres, be ready to give up your gun rights if Obama wins and your exotics if either one wins

Actually, I am hoping that an earthquake along the San Andres fault will trigger a Tsunami Wave that will wash over that land, and wash everything into the ocean.
Just think, beach front property in Western Nevada, LOL !

Donating money to PETA is a problem on this one. usually its a clear cut, are you crazy?
The problem is they are the only group to bring up the question of how the processing of the skins of snakes and crocs/caimans/gators are done. And publicize it.
So wrong group, right cause? Who will pick it up so they can go back to their anti-fur demos?
I have heard stories out of Viet Nam of the preferred ay to skin a snake in Vietnam is to fill it full of water, then cut the skin below the head and just pull. Then they sell the snake skin, and eat the meat.
But I have seen films and talked to eye-witnesses of people selling snakes in SEAsia and SW China food markets, skinning them alive when the snake is purchased. (It's like us asking someone in a fish market to descale or debone a whole fish? But here at least the fish is dead.)
Would be interesting in knowing how the gator farms in the south harvest the skins. Correct me here if wrong. the meat is all from the tail, the skin is from the torso. At least the best most pliable skin, best for clothing, etc.
Again PETA, yuck, but the issue is real and no one else is reporting on it.

I am still very skeptical about snakes being skinned while alive.
While I am against folks in Asia and India using snakes for meat and leather products, I am just not sure that the claims that PETA is making are true.
Just think of the logistics of trying to skin an living snake. Especially if it is a venomous snake.
If a snake is killed first, then it is much easier to skin. However, a snake that is freshly killed will still move around for some time, and this is probably what folks are seeing that makes them think the snakes are still alive.
The idea of filling a living snake with water to make it easier to skin does not make much sense also. How do you do that with a living snake ? I can see using water pressure or compressed air to seperate a skin from a snakes body. But while the snake is living ???
Also, a favorite technique for fishermen who catch eel is to put a nail through their head and into a board. The same is done with catfish. That pretty much kills the eel or catfish, however, the nervous reflexes still cause that eel or catfish to move some while it is being skinned.
It would be easy for an PETA person to claim that an eel was being skinned alive. And it would also be easy for them to say that it was a snake being skinned. Most people would not know the difference.
