Who would one contact to get a permit to keep venomous reptiles in Florida? Are there any internet sites that post laws pertaining to the keeping of venomous species for each state?

http://www.myflorida.com/fwc/q&a/captive.html is the florida regulations concerning captive wildlife. The permit is five dollars and requires 1000 hours of experience within the families desired, two letters of recommendation and a cover letter describing the species you intend to keep, your experience, and reason for keeping the animals. The application is available from The Florida Freshwater Game and Fish Commission. The application was available in pdf format but has apparently moved. Call them in Tallahassee and they will send you a packet with regulations and the application.
Exhibiting or selling venomous requires a separate permit and $1000 surety bond. (The bond costs about 50 dollars and is available at most insurance companies.)

found it,
The address for the application is http://fcn.state.fl.us/fwc/forms/vr.pdf
The snail mail for the department is
Florida Game and Fresh Water Fish Commission
620 South Meridian Street, Tallahassee, FL 32399-1600
(850) 488-3641
Be prepared, they take about six or eight weeks to issue the permit.

Chad ;)
