As many of you know, there's a misconception that folks have about me in how I view our younger keepers/hobbyists on this web site. Although I will always have very strong feelings about young kids keeping hots (they shouldn't have them), I do want to say a big THUMBS UP to one of our younger members here. Jon Short has worked hard at listening, learning and networking with some of the elder statesmen of this site. When you approach us in a respectful manner, you will be respected....and doors will open. The pricks who show their complete immaturity are going to be the death of our hobby.
Jon asked me if I would be willing to try out one of his home made snake hooks and I said "sure". Honestly, I wasn't expecting much and kept my expectations fairly low but I did appreciate his enthusiasm in having me try one out. Well, the hook arrived yesterday and when I unpacked it I was really blown away. He put some time and craftsmanship into this hook and it will be used regularly around here. For an early prototype model, this is quite good and I'm guessing that the quality will only get better with experience. No rough edges, easy to use, sturdy, really a well made hook so if anyone is looking for a hook while helping a young guy get his feet into the herp door, give him a try.

i bought one of his hooks, and love it! i use it for the large bitis, because of how strurdy it is, keep it up jon, arin

Jon is making some durn good snake hooks.
It is great that folks here are testing those hooks, and finding them to be good quality.

I assure you Marty, I did not receive any e-mails from you.
I don't get way to many e-mails, so I would've known if I received one from you.
Maybe my Yahoo was screwing up... It does that from time to time.
