My adult Southern Pacific Rattlesnake has recently been looking up and twisting his head in weird motions. However, when I tap on the glass, or pull him out, he seems perfectly fine. Also, other than those instances, he seems perfectly healthy. This has not happened before and I am worried. Thanks in advance.

That's not a good sign over all. A number of diseases have onset symptons simular to what you're describing. I would isolate the animal from the rest of collection, since it is very likely communicable.

Do you know exactly what could be wrong with him? Could it be star gazing? Is their a cure? Thanks in advance.

there* On second thought I looked up star gazing and it is a gene that is passed down and has nothing to do with this. I'm extremely worried because I really like this snake and I don't want the rest of my snakes to be infected.

Like Al said, isolate the animal immediately - others may be exposed if its viral. Before panicking, though, realize that many things can bring these symptoms on - even a bacterial infection which can be treated so don't lose too much sleep over it. The most important thing is to run a full blood panel with your vet. It will cost some money but in the long run, will help you not worry about your other animals.

The reason why I'm so worried is honestly, I've never had a snake actually get sick before. I want to know where I went wrong. Where did my snake catch this illness from?
