I'm not sure about your comment. Who is the "self-serving leftist", the people(an Animal Rights group) who entered this bill, or PIJAC? This bill is a real threat to most of us; its purpose is to put virtually every non-native animal, with the exception of dogs, cats and commonly-kept agricultural livestock, on the list of "Injurious Wildlife" under the Lacey Act. That would prohibit all interstate commerce and transport of said animals, as well as prohibit bringing them into the country. That doesn't matter if they're CB or not. Herps, especially large constrictors, are right on the bull's eye.

Fair enough! My intent was to denigrate the legislator from Guam and the "animal rights" groups that support this bill.

OK...got it. I just needed that to be cleared up. It's all the more frustrating when people who are from places that are eco-sensitive and highly unique want to push what they see as the solutions to their particular situations on everyone. Guam is unique; South Florida is unique. They need to handle their problems in their own backyards, rather than force their solutions to those problems on the rest of us. In spite of the ridiculous claims, I seriously doubt that Brown Tree Snakes or Burms are going to all over the US...or hamsters, either, for that matter.

If the impetus for this bill is the brown tree snake, isn't it closing the barn doors after the horses are gone? It seems, instead, that Guam should be more vigilant for additional threats, not the rest of us. This is a prime example of laziness. Rather than getting off of their butts and assessing their condition those slackards want to pass a national bill so we not only pay the price, but do their work as well.
