is there a snake on bali that with its poison makes your, say, leg "explode". something about the blood expanding til it blows???

I not sure what snakes are native to bali but certain snakes such as the puff adder (first that comes to my mind)have highly necrotic venoms that cause extreme tissue damage and swelling of the bite area. Nothing essentially explodes but the swelling and the distruction of tissue, including the skin, cause really nasty looking bites. Sometimes also with certain snake bites the swollen area is cut open called a fasciatomy, i believe, and that may look like someones limb has "exploded". If you go to the picture section look up snake bites you will see a few pictures of what i am talking about.
