I would like to get some professional input on the additude of these snakes...
Are they like contortix or piscivorus, or are they different?
How difficult are they to keep as far as handling goes? Are they wirey?
I understand that the additude will vary with each individual animal, but I would like to learn more about these in captivity.
Thanks in advance,
Jon Short

Jon I have worked with quite a few Cantils over the years for the most part they are easy to work with. The temperment is about the same as Copperheads and Cottonmouths either one is prone to there off days. The big difference is the cantil has more kick to its bite. When working with any of these snakes always use the proper tools. And you will enjoy them alot more. Cantils breed very good in captivity. Feed them once a week ,keep there cage temp between 78-80 year round, keep them seperated at all times except when you attempt to breed them. I only keep mine togetherno more than one day. Offsprings are usually produced around 163 to 180 days. Average litteris about 8 .But I did have 2 litters about a month ago,12 and 11. hope this helps you if you have any questions dont hesitate to ask. Be careful Chris
