my friends are telling me that the komodo dragon is venomous. While my favorite reptile show says that it just has bacterial saliva that breaks your body down. So I don't know wich one to believe.

Go check out the research Dr. Bryan Fry - venomdoc.com - has done on venom in the Varanidae (monitors, including Komodos) and Teiidae (the 'normal' lizards). Apparently, the vast majority of them (or all?) are technically venomous. That doesn't mean they're necessarily dangerous to people as they may not have an efficient method of delivery.
But to the point, Dr. Fry is now showing that the long held view that Komodos took down their prey by septicemia (blood poisoning from bacteria) may not be reality.

viper like chance said fry's research shows they are venomous also i dont think anyone here is going to believe you got bit by one. you list of venomous you keep is pretty impressive for someone that is 9 years old and i see you started keeping them when you where 7 years old.

Besides the one time I was at the Zoo and one jumped the wall after I teased it, I can't recall ever running into one. I guess if you plan on going Komodo Hunting at the local zoo or Komodo Island I think it's safe to say, you wont have to worry about what happens if you get bit as the chances of getting that close to one is very, very, very, very rare.

For some reason, caugh*(Another post)*caugh, I feel I must put, "I kid of course" about teasing the Komdo Dragon. I don't know what that dragons issue was when he jumped the wall and came after me.
I KID OF COURSE!

Komodo Dragons Kill With Venom, Researchers Find
http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2009/05/090518-komodo-dragon-venom.html
Komodo Dragons Kill With Venom, Researchers FindCarolyn Barry
for National Geographic News
Komodo dragons kill using a one-two punch of sharp teeth and a venomous bite, scientists have confirmed for the first time.
The find dispels the common belief that toxic bacteria in the Komodos' mouths are responsible for ultimately killing the dragons' prey.
An animal that escapes a Komodo's initial attack soon weakens and dies. The fierce carnivore tracks the wounded creature and dines at its leisure once the prey collapses.
Researchers have long thought that the Komodo dragon, native to Indonesia, kills via blood poisoning caused by the multiple strains of bacteria in the dragon's saliva.
But "that whole bacteria stuff has been a scientific fairy tale," said Bryan Fry, a venom researcher at the University of Melbourne in Australia.

I think the bottom line on this can be summed up so:
Some scientists (BGF et al) did some actual scientific research and study and showed that Komodo Dragons (Varanus komodoensis) have venom glands which produce venom.
Some other folks (scientists and lay-people alike) who have not done any research or scientific study into the matter disagree with these findings.
I imagine that it might be difficult to disprove the presence of venom glands and venom on an animal that is as highly protected as the Komodo Dragon. However, it has been my experience, that the same people who say "There is no such thing as a Canebrake Rattlesnake - it was proven with scientific research" will look you in the eye and say "I don't believe that the Komodo Dragon has venom - it just doesn't make sense."
Go figure.
Your choice - you can believe in BGF's scientific study (I recommend you read his paper before you decide) or you believe in "that's the way it has always been" (which also gave us such bright stars as "the earth is flat" and "beyond here be monsters").
Just my way of looking at things.
