“Fatal Attractions: Some animals are best left in the wild.” It is set to air 10 p.m. March 14, 21, and 28.
I would think that just the title is not pro-reptile keeping. I believe her medical care was sub-standard and if properly treated, this story would not have a sad ending. I think we need to take action against AP, they are doing the exotic community more harm than good.

Area woman plays woman killed by viper in ‘deadly animal series’
By Amelia Robinson | Tuesday, January 12, 2010, 01:54 PM
Lesley Ann Fogle was attacked by an urutu pit viper and the whole thing was captured on film.
The Vandalia resident, an actress with the P.C. Goenner’s Talent Agency, plays Alexandria Hall in the Animal Planet’s upcoming three- part series “Fatal Attractions: Some animals are best left in the wild.” It is set to air 10 p.m. March 14, 21, and 28.
Hall, who according to news reports had nine poisonous snakes and more than one dozen other snakes, lizards and alligators, was bitten by the highly venomous viper in her suburban Cincinnati home in 2004.
“This woman actually drove herself to the hospital,” Fogle said. “She had a brain hemorrhage and died.”
Some of the filming for the series was shot in the Cincinnati area, Fogle said, noting that several animals were used during the filming.
Car mounted cameras were also used.
“It was an interesting shoot,” the veteran actress said. “It was fun.”
The series also includes stories of a the Connecticut women attacked by a chimp, a man eaten by his Nile monitor lizards and a woman mauled by her own leopard.

This is not surprising from Animal Planet.
Many of the shows they produce make me think they are just a branch of the HSUSA & PETA.
Unfortunate that they want to sensationalize the Urutu bite. That story just does not want to die.
Hate to see any shows that make reptiles look bad.
The snake will become the bad guy that attacked the woman. And, I bet nothing will be said about what she was doing wrong, or what the hospital did wrong.
Perhaps reptile keepers can start a letter writing campaign or something against that network.
Best Regards

I bet it wont even mention the dr who killed her by refuseing to give her proper treatment .(Her father has a long followed post on here some where). He will be hailed as a hero. And yes Al they hate our guts This will I am sure be a good foot board in to the next ban, venomous. If they ban the pythons ans boas we will go down with out even a whimper. We are just about over in a very legal way.We make an easy target (nuts with rattlesnakes in there basement oh my god)for the deflection of true issues. In other we have become a political safty bumper an issue that can be used to rally people who hate snakes 98% of the planet earth.I WILL NOT EVEN WATCH ANIMAL PLANET THEY ARE SO ANTI US.I just spent several days in the hospital and I watched it for the first time in a couple of years. The main show clogging the channel Animal cops with there ASPCA agenda hammered in so hard it was disgusting .I watched them take healthy animals away for no reason at all. They also busted a few mistreated animals that is true. But the main focus for the most part on the shows I saw were pit bulls and exotics. They get warrants with out cause exicute them then distroy the healthy animals. They are in fact the worst friend we have ever had.A true platform to set forth propaganda to distroy us the exotic keeper .I absolutely hate the channel.

It is unfortunate that "big name" herpetologists like Donald Schultz, and Jeff Corwin continue to make shows for Animal Planet.
Would be much better if they went to National Geographic and Discovery Channel with their ideas for TV shows, and refused to support that outfit.
Remember, this thread is about Animal Planet, and this is not a invite for folks to start bashing the two folks I mentioned above, as they have done good shows for other TV channels in the past.
I am just saying, they COULD help support the reptile hobby if they chose to not take jobs from a TV channel that is obviously a strong supporter of HSUSA & PETA.

I just watched Don and I enjoyed his new series .I know Don and we have talked on my snake bites also sent him some pictures. He was interested in getting me on the show at the time but it did not work out.I like him and what he does. His energy reminds me of Steve.I think this guy could be a strong force representing our interests on the Animal planet series. Will the net work let him I doubt it.He is a good guy and worth watching. On the other hand Jeff sends mixed messages .I do not know him and he seems to stand on both sides of our issues.I enjoyd his show when I watched it.I do not think he would stand up for us tho I do not know. They love reptiles so I have to love them.

I have nothing against Don at all, I have problems with AP mostly...this will be an event supporting snakebite victims around the world and raising awareness, so good on Don.

The fact is that most of the big name TV Herpetologist will work for what ever network pays them.
If they boycotted Animal Planet, it would send a strong message. But, they will not do that.
They care more about their image, and making money, than sending a message in support of reptile keepers.
Has nothing to do with if they are nice guys or not.
The fact is, if we want to change things on Animal Planet, it would be better if those guys were not doing shows there.
You see things that make you mad at Animal Planet, like the show about the Urutu bite, and say that Animal Planet is bad, and should be protested, and, in the same breath, you say that Jeff & Donald are good on Animal Planet, and should be allowed to continue. And that is right also. If the show Donald is doing really does raise money to fight global snake bite, then it is a good thing. The key work being "IF."
We can not have it both ways. That is exactly why I pointed out that both of them work there.
Only if they help out, can we make any difference on what is aired on that channel.
Best Regards

Damn it John would you just quit being right all the time it is makeing me sick of trying to flip my double headed nickel. Also my medication is just not letting me keep up ,where can I get that decoder ring, cracker jacks mabie.Truth I like Donald and after some recent findings Jeff is not one I would consider our friend. The only time I have watched animal planet in 2 years is while I was in the hospital this week.We need a show that is on weekly that goes in to keepers homes and breeders ,That shows the positive side of our hobby and how we truly live.

Isn't Corwin on the board of directors of the Defenders of Wildlife who pushed hard for HR 669? I do believe so!
