last week my friends new ball python had what we believed at the time were retained eye caps. I have removed several eye caps before so i decided i would show him how to remove them. they were tougher to get off than any other eye caps, but like an idiot i continued to take them off without knowing at the time you could pull off living specticals. Last night I seen that the snakes eyes were dried out, my friend said that's the first night they looked like that. I saw a previous post on here saying that after eye surgery they put neosporin on the eye to keep it from drying out. Being that the snakes eyes are already dried out is it too late to save them, if not, please let me know what i can do to save them.

Ball pythons can be very tricky when it comes to this...they often develop wrinkles in the eye-cap that make it look like an unshed spectacle when it isn't.

Unfortunatly I found that out the hard way. The eye caps had wrinkles, were even a silverish color, and the snake was rubbing his head on things like he was trying to get them off. They were tough to get off but all it took was scotch tape.

I know that alot of rep people do there own vet work. This takes rears of working with reptiles. That said. If you damage another personS animal you would BE responsible for all vet bills to fix your mistake and replaceing said animal if it is lost. This is a good lession you have learned here.Your age alone tells me you do not have the knowledge to perform any vet service .
