Anyone know of any damage being done to the snakes populations on the coastal areas of FL, AL, LA, & MS (specifically Marsh Snakes)?
Have been wondering for some time, and i know the news networks are less prone to report any snake deaths due to the fact that snakes are not considered cute.

I too was wondering the same. You have to think that all forms of wildlife will be affected by this disaster, including reptiles. Unless they do what they best at, hide.

YES!
I saw tonight on CNN where the Dept. of Interior is going after BP for violations of the endangered Species act regarding animals affected by the spill. Sea Turtles were specifically noted.

Somehow I bet cottonmouths will disliked being washed with DAWN much worse than pelicans.

I hope the dept. of interior makes it stick on the endangered species act deal, would be nice if BP actually had to stand responsible huu? As for bathing a Cottonmouth with DAWN, i hope they have good gloves LOL. If not that could be a painful experience.

I have also been wondering about this . With mobs of people doing cleanup work , I imagine the number of encounters will be higher than usual , and you know some of those people will try killing the snakes , how much higher will the bite numbers be this year ? And I imagine even more snakes than usual will die .
