I am an aquatic biologist remodeling an exhibit in a Dangerous and Deadly Gallery and was considering exhibiting Pelamis platurus. I am looking for information from anyone who has kept them (successfully or unsuccessfully) regarding captive care, downfalls of exhibiting this species, and the likelihood of acquisition. Any and all information is welcomed and appreciated. You are more than welcome to contact me directly at my e-mail address or on this forum. Thank you

You'd be much better off going with a sea krait species than a true sea snake. True sea snakes are very very delicate and do quite poorly in captivity. I have kept quite a number of species, including Pelamis. We were able to successfully keep Pelamis with a huge amount of work but then the natural lifespan of the snakes is only 4-5 years due to their extremely high metabolism from all the swimming.
