Below is a doco I did with a good German mate up in Weipa, uploaded in four segments. Annoyingly dubbed over in German but the imagery is still good :)

The snake at 4:10 is a brand new species :) In the ~40 trips I have made up there, I have only caught 5 in a decade of being up there and only in one particular small patch of habitat (all in a 2 k by 500 meter stretch of unique seagrass bed). So stoked!! It is so satisfying to have discovered a new sea snake. :) :) I absolutely adore sea snakes. Such amazing creatures. The work is being written up as part of a larger paper. It is really unique with super rough scalation. That scene then cuts into a spine-bellied sea snake when I am talking about only the males have the spines. They cut two species together for the one scene. The magic of television. :) No worries though since the focus wasn't on the new species :) :)

at 4:17 a 300 pound jewfish chases the small cod out of the water :) You can quite clearly hear my reaction :p

Oh no no no...we call them "Goliath Groupers" now. Damn PC police! I still call them Jewfish, always will.

So then how would you describe the yellow rat snake? Would 'Snakes of Asian Descent' work?
I like the reference to the F@#$ up cascade in the radio interview. It really makes me want to double check all my safety procedures... just in case. Good advice.
