Does anyone know of any suppliers of cypress roots/knobs? I'm trying to jazz up my Shawnee Nat'l Forest exhibit (currently has the Timbers) and was thinking it would be cool to put some of these in the exhibit. I poked around but couldn't find anyone that sells them - might have to try my hand at fiberglassing one (any helpful hints?). Thanks, Rob

A few Ebay sellers offer them as well. They typically aren't particularly cheap but last forever. I've ordered Cypress wood numerous times from Ebay and the product is always very nice.

If Rob's anything like me and wants to get this cage tweaked looking good...I foresee the following conversation with his wife this week...

Rob, it had been a while since I have had time to get up there, but I believe that the gift shop at the Waycross entrance to the Okeefenokee Swamp has Cypress knees for sale.
Like I said, it has been quite a while but you might want to give them a call and see what they have.

Rob I sent you a message on facebook. Tom's cypress in Waldo Florida has a whole lot full of cypress knees, roots, and assorted other driftwood. They are cheap too! The lady there is really nice. I don't know if they regularly sell online, but I'm sure the lady there would ship to you if you talk to her. They have them from fist sized up to the size of a vw beetle.

Rob, perhaps I can trade you some cypress for a tour of your facility? ;-) I'm right by the dismal swamp in VA, and shouldn't have any difficulty finding some pieces for your display.
