I just got a new, nice, tall tank. Instead of the typical atrox or gaboon sitting in the bottom iw want to put a tree viper or some sort in it. My question to you guys is what your personal preferance is. bush vipers?, white lips?, eyelash?, wagler's?, etc. I personally dont want something to small in the bigger tank, so I havent made up my mind. Thanks for your opinions.

Asking a favourite species of arboreal viper is like asking which child is your favourite!
If you want something attractive and not too small, why not try a female Sri Lankan Bamboo Viper (Trimeresurus trigonocephalus). They can be somewhat hard to come by, but a great species to keep. These snakes are absolutely gorgeous, they get to be a good size for an arboreal and their venom is not too toxic.
If you can't get your hands on one, I've always enjoyed keeping eyelashes and bush vipers. They're not quite as big and a bit more toxic but still very nice species.
Sorry if I haven't been much help, but it's hard to choose from such a long list of beautiful animals!

i totally have to agree with Luke. A broad question like that is going to get tons of answers hahah. What size tank are we talking here, maybe a nice pair of eyelashes of differing colors would be attractive and take up some of the tank without being overcrowded for the snakes. There are just so many answers. What about a pair of voguls?

A ton of answers is ok. I dont expect any one snake to be better than the other, Its more about your opinions. The tank is 5' wide, 4' tall without the stand, and about 17" deep. And thanks for all the input so far

I am partial to Bothriechis. That being said they seem to like smaller enclosures. Sounds like a pretty large cage, so adult eyelash might be a better option. Just my humble 2 cents worth.

A little more advanced feeders, but asian vine snakes are awesome display animals. Very affordable too. That being said I couldnt decide on one ssp. Im an arboreal nut! The possibilities are endless. As previously stated trigons are fantastic! I'm expecting a litter this spring. If you decide they are for you. Best of luck! Nothing like a decked out arboreal cage.

Tim,
If you are interested in selling any trigons, please let me know when yours are born... I would LOVE a male to go with my female!

I squired another adult fen so there will hopefully be two litters this year of trigons. As for the opt question. Money wise you could put a decent colony of whitelips for a reasonable price. I should have at least two litters this year of albos.
