I'm not the expert but I don't think their has been any recorded fatalities or very few at least. Still, I'm sure its a pretty nasty bite. I also think they can be pretty fiesty and put on quite a show.

I've kept two species of Aspidelaps. Lubricus and scutatus and both are from Africa's arid regions. The sheld nosed cobras if cb can be kept on newspaper but prefer sand or something they can bury in. Coral cobras will do fine on newspaper with a hide box of some sort. Their is no antivenom for Aspidelaps but they are venomous so any bite may be costly and require treatment. They have a gentle dispostion and can be easily handled with small hooks. Although like most cobras on a hook they like to go,so move quickly and steadily. I am by no means an expert and do not claim to be, I am just offering my exp. Hope I was of some help.

Aspidelaps lubricus, aka the coral cobra, is a pretty cool little snake. Sweet tempered, they think that they're more along the lines of a big king or forest cobra, quite entertaining. They can be, as was previously stated, easily handled with a small hook. I used a 12-inch hook on my Aspidelaps species, rather, I used a double hook technique. Everyone has their own preffered way though.
They hail from Southern Africa's more arid climates. To my knowledge there has been one recorded fatality, of a little girl, though I don't recall the details of the treatment.
Husbandry is fairly simple. They like to burrow and hide. They're also pretty good eaters, as most elapids are, and will fare well with a diet of apropriately sized foods.
Cheers,
Roger
