Does anyone know the true record size for a banded water snake?

I have personaly seen animals at 4 or over in Hyde county NC. I am not sure of the max length however. Probally around 4-5ft. J

My 13 year old Peterson Field Guide says 60 in.

I can only imagine the girth on that 60 inch Banded! Where I live we have Florida Banded waters and though they are most common, I love 'em. Even more impressive are our Fl.Green Water snakes as well as Browns which get absolutely huge. It is too bad these snakes get a bad rap as biters because they really become quite docile soon after capture.
