This question goes out to BGF or someone who knows: What is THE most venomous creature ("drop-4-drop") known to science?

i know about reptiles but not so sure about other animals , iam sure its a box jellyfish also known as a sea wasp. The body of a sea wasp can weight as much as 2 kg. The tentacles are armed with up to 5,000 nematocysts, or stinging cells. Certain chemicals on the surface of fish, shellfish and humans activate these. Contact with only 3 m of tentacles may be fatal for an adult. There are many reported deaths that have occurred in northern Australia between November and April.
think thats it if i m not right someone will say , im more into reptiles. also i heard this on tv aswell.

The most toxic creatures on earth are: The box jellyfish, the rough skeened newt and the Golden Poison dart frog(Philobates or Dendrobates teribilis). I`ve heard about all of them being the most toxic but I`m not sure which one actualy is. In terms of snakes, the Inland Taipan, Fierce Snake or Small scaled snake(Oxyuranus(former Parademnasia) microlepidotus) has the highest subcutaneus LD50. Hope this helps. Best regards, Alex S.

I suspect this question will be popular. Let me reiterate: What is THE most toxic creature known to science, "drop-4-drop". The cone snail, box jelly??? If you respond to this question, PLEASE back up your answers with some proof...not speculation (LD50's). BGF are you out there???

Well, you guys were almost there with the Australian Box Jellyfish. Its actually a mini blue octopus that occupies the Great Barries Reef, off of Australia's coast. The scary thing about this little guy is that you can not feel it tag you, but once you are tagged you have only 10 - 20 minutes to live. Its in an old Jacues Cousteau book that I have somewhere. Once I find it I will give you the latin name etc.. The Box Jellyfish comes in at a very close second because of the neurotoxic venom that paralyzes you to where you are immobile and will drown if you don;t get out of the water quick enough. Although, there are quite alot of people who die from its sting.

Yeah, the blue ringed octopus is very toxic. I know its in the top 1-3 toxic animals, but I'm not sure if its the most toxic. The scientific name is Hapalochlaena maculosa. Hope this helps.

I think that there are alot of creatures tied with being the most toxic. The box jelly and the dart frog may be tied because they are both equally toxic but they have different types of toxins. I dont know. Ive heard that the box jelly fish is the most toxic, but in my biology book it says that the poison dart frog is the most toxic.
