Lately I have been hearing that the Bush Administraton has a anti-enviromental agenda. Budget cuts and the stripping of environmental policy such as the "Clear Skies ", and pressures from industries like Exxon/Mobil, DuPont, Coors under the guise of non-profit environmental organizations such as Heritage, The Citizens for the Environment, The Evergreen Foundation, have duped the public and made the environment an enemy to be exploited. It has made things hard on a lot of people who worked in enviromental conservation.

So are you going to make up your mind based on what you've "been hearing"? Take the time to research tese issues yourself and only then , form your own opinion. Be aware, however, that many of the sources of "news" you may encounter have a bias one way or the other.
As for Bush's anti environment leanings....all I can say is I haven't read or seen anything that makes his policies any worse than the rest of them.
Do you guys really want to make this a political forum? Let's just stick with something we can all agree on -
HERPS!!

If politics can interfer with our wildlife than there needs to be a political forum. My brother is a big "politician" and does alot of research. he told me that bush was going to get rid of the Endagered Species Act. On the debate though Bush said that he is going to help the environment. I want everyone on this website to respond to this post. If politics gets involved with wildlife then we all need to make our opinion heard. Good topic Phillip. Sorry I posted as annonymous but I did because I dont know jack about politics and I just posted because Ive personally heard of such things by Bush. I guess you can say that Im a coward

Bush has the worst record on enviromental issues. He is anti endanger species act and has pretty much done away with the water/air quality acts. He has done more damage to the enviroment then his father and Reagan together. The facts are available .
Politics are just that everyone has an opinion and in this country you have the right to your opinion at this time. Facts are Bush is pro business at the expense of the environment.
Bush has cut money for medical research . He makes promises but never comes through with the money. Cut taxes to the upper class and promise to spend more money. Where is the money going to come from? Oil drilling on wildlife refuges.

Anyone who cares one ounce about our environment should be enraged at the thought of Bush being around for another four years. Environmental preservation was already a tough enough battle and Bush has turned our progress into reverse. Like we were at the turn of the 20th century again. We've learned too much to be backsliding in our environmental protection laws.
The only people that seem to support Bush are the ones that believe his BS, and the rich that benefit from it.
This is not the same person as the last anonymous poster, this is another coward.

Just lately I have read in the Atlanta Journal Consitution and there was an article about how the Bush Administration is trying to get rid of the endangered species. The article was mainly about the endangered Red Cockaded Woodpecker. How The want to destroy its habitat.

The following link contains a well-written, thought-provoking and deeply worrying account of how the Bush administration deals with "scientific evidence":

I work in the environmental field.
In my opinion and experience, the current administration is passing laws that LOOK like progress, but the standards set in these new laws are terrible and they are not even enforcing them. There are no consequences for not complying with the laws. And if companies have been operating and polluting, there are no efforts to end that pollution or incentives to use cleaner technology. This is very pro business, but it allows the big polluters to continue business as usual.
