Hello everybody,
Today I wanted to to feed my snakes. When I was trying to get the pair of S.m.barbouri seperated the male just bite the female on the head. A few drop of were on her head. If you look from the top the right site is a little thick.
Will the female survive and what can I do.
I already removed the female.
Please let me know.
Dennis.

Its possible (most likely probable) that as long as she doesn't develop an infection, she'll survive. I've had many snakes bite each other over the years (Crotalus lepidus klauberi, C. d. durissus, Bothrops asper and even Lachesis stenophrys).
Keep an eye on her, if the swelling persists for more than a day, contact a vet.

Hi Dennis:
Well you're not the first keeper it's happened to. Be glad it was not some really big snakes like Bitis that this happened with.
It's will most likely be okay after a week or so but it's also possible you'll loose the snake. They are mostly if not completely immune to venom of their own species. The question is what structures were punctured by the fang and what types of bacteria were introduced.
I have a pair of Cerastes vipera where the female really chomped the male during feeding and hung on for a few seconds. He's fine but I occupy the females mouth with food first when feeding them.
Good luck,
Al
