Alot of people are confused with this latin name. Bitis gabonica rhinocerous is the Gaboon viper, not the rhinocerous viper. The Rhinocerous viper is Bitis nasicornis. I dont like to argue with people but people have argued with me because they say Bitis gabonica rhinocerous is the rhino viper and it isnt.

I opened my Atlas of snakes of the world by John Coborn Published in 1994 by T.F.H. to double check this one. The Bitis gabonica is the Gaboon viper and the Bitis nasicornis is the Rhinoceros viper.

I just found that the Bitis gabonica rhinoceros and the Bitis nasicornis are both the latin names for the rhinoceros Viper.
