Does anyone know the list of all the endangered Rattlesnakes? Is the Aruba Island (Crotalus unicolor) the only one?

No, the New Mexican Ridge nosed rattlesnake is also 'Threatened', as is the Aruba Island rattlesnake.

I believe that all the islands in the Sea of Cortez and Gulf of California are protected and it is illegal to go there without permission. However, the only truly protected rattlesnake species for endangered is the Aruba island rattlesnake. However, now there has been some recent systematics research sonsidering them to not be a full species and has placed them back in the Crotalus durissus complex (C. durissus unicolor), so I doubt that we get full species protection like they have in the past.
There are species that are threatened or of special concern in the U.S. but those are usually just state listed and not federally listed. I doubt there will be many herp species listed over the next 4 years. More species were put on the endangered species list in any one year with Clinton than Bush's entire 4 year term.
Look at Bush and his cabinet's environmental record over the past 4 years. He is absolutely the worst president for the environment that we have ever had.
But I guess that is ok as long as we keep those homosexuals from gettin' married. (<-irony)

yes thats a top priority with our prez, this is getting off topic but i think the leader of this supposed free country needs to be more of an open minded individual, with different priorities other than oil and trying to do away with what his religion considers bad.

Robert,
Do you have a link or reference for the status upgrade to Endangered? I naturally assumed that C. unicolor was endangered, but the FWS database, indicates Threatened.

Whats amusing, is the habitat conservation plan for Aruba---Jack Squat! The problem with all 'endangered species' is that the habitat is usually more endangered than the animals. Aruba is a perfect example of overdevelopment.
We've discovered populations of E/T animals here in NY in parts of their range where they just weren't supposed to be (Someone forgot to tell the reptiles).
Thanks.

No president ever made a name for himself paying attention to domestic policy anyway...
I think JFK said that. Or maybe his daddy did and he listened. Who knows what that guy was on anyway.
Either way, I know that a Black Mamba escaped in the city I used to live in. There was a public outcry [naturally], and now in Fremont, CA, anyone found with a venomous reptile better have a bona fide permit from the Homeland Security Deparment or they'll get their behinds kicked all the way to Madagascar.

This started out as an excellent topic.
Let's leave the political innuendo and discussion of pro or anti homosexual for the political forums, please.
There is a huge difference between the State endangered lists and the Federal/International endangered lists.
