Hi, This is to everyone that reads this. I want everyone to give a list of what products(lighting, cages, bedding etc. etc.) they use in maintaining their venomous reptiles. Tell how long you have used them, what you like about them, and what you dont like about them. Maybe this will help me as well as others make a decision when investing in keeping our venomous reptiles. Thank You.

Hey Jeremy, I have so many snakes, I use alot of plastic rubbermaid containers. In a few of my display cages I use cypress mulch. But in all the rest I use aspine bedding or newspapper. I try to keep it as simple as I can, and I provide all my snakes with a hide box or hollowed out log. All of my hots are housed in an escape proof room that we have added on to our house.

I use wooden cages with an upwords sliding front glass and lots of small holes in the roof for ventilation. As a substrate I usualy use sand to try to recreat the natural habitat of the snake. I also have small shreaded oak leaves with the sand and decorate the cage with rocks or branches. I think this makes the snake act more natural and overall happier.I use light bulbs(40-60W-depending on the size of the enclosure) for heating because most of my snakes enjoy basking under the "sun" light :)) I would never trust a heat rock with any of my snakes. I also use those plastic shoe boxes you find in pet stores for my smaller snakes with news paper beccause they`re easy to clean, light weight and I have good visibility. I use snake hookds most times to handle my hots and a spoon to take out their wastes. Take care...

When I was keeping, I used homemade cages. I used the stuff that shower walls are made of to build my cages, its made out of plastic and is totally water proof. I use plexiglass as fronts, I would highly recommend this method, it really works well. This was the method I used to build my Zoo cages. I have never used bought cages............Be safe ya’ll, happy herping, Wally

Hey Jeremy, all of my cages are homemade out of 3/4 inch plywood.I never use heat rocks.I have in the past used heat pads placed under 1/3 of the cage and it seemed to work OK.But now I just keep the building warm enough and use lighting. The only items I use that are "store bought" are Gentle Giant Tongs from Midwest, I also have a Pro Hook and a set of restraining tubes from Midwest.A couple of different sized hemostats and tweezers. The rest of my hooks and things I made myself.Marty
