Maryland had it's legislative amendment meeting today at 1:00 and it looks to be done as of June 2006...
How many left 22?
Chris Harpers statement below is so correct. I helped North Dakota intall a permit system.... A complete success compared to an all out ban...everyone needs to be doing it in their states too! The bans are coming, the bans are coming....reminds me of Paul Revere!
Regards,
Terry

Tell me what steps to take, and I'll try and get started in Texas.. I do know if you intend to keep more than ten indigenous species captive, or have more than that in posession for any reason, you must have a permit. I have one. But as far as exotics, etc, I am unaware. I don't keep exotics. Yet.

Terry,
Please tell us where you found this information. I for one am a Maryland "Active Permitee" and have contacted DNR to inquire about this. They (Mary Goldie, Permits Coordinator) informed me, that there is no such thing on the Secretary's plate at this time. When I inquired with the General Assembly, the only Department of Natural Resources agendas under consideration is in Washington County, where collecting of Tiger Beetles *Endangered Species* is illegal, and to it, give the Secretary the provisions to search and seize any collections. Also under consideration is Aquaculture...all of which does not come close to possession and husbandry permits for venomous reptiles in the State.
I would like to find out where you found this information, as the Department would like to put to rest these types of bad information.
Eager to know,
Matt
