Dont see why not. They're both in the same.....Genus? is that right? I dont see WHY either. I'd be afraid the babies would come out ugly and bland. Dont know till ya try though.

Yes, it has been done (as has a piscivorous/ contortrix hybrid). However, that doesn't mean that it isn't worth doing. Just remember that the offspring (which you may or may not get) would be sterile. If you get offspring that can reproduce, however, then you have something worthy of Copia or the SSAR.

Regarding sterility, not all hybrid offspring are sterile. I believe the ball pythons/Angolan python hybrids are fertile, as are the burm/retic hybrids (or "bateaters"). Sterility in hybrid offspring probably has a lot to do with how far apart the two species are in relation to each other, or it could just be a random chance event. One thing is for sure, if a carpet python can be crossed with a woma python (which, until now, I thought were pythons in name only) and produce living offspring, anything is possible.
