Songbirds and horridus are a perfect combo! My timber never turns down a bird. As far as gerbils...the only problem I've ever had is a large carpet python that once I finally got her to eat a gerbil, she never ate anything else but gerbils. Does anyone know if Zinc bb's are toxic? I have a whole box of them, and occasionally I'll 'harvest' small local mammals for the timber using them.

I would use copper bb's. A small bb is not going to hurt your snake if it ingest a bird/rodent that has been shot with one. If you cant pick it out, then it should pass with no problems. Bryan
