Hello all, Here's my very first post. I come here often but have never posted anything until now. I read on the calendar that this show is in Spartanburg, not Greenville. We do have a Piedmont Interstate Fairground here in Spartanburg. As far as I know, this would be the first ever reptile show in Spartanburg. I could be wrong, but I don't recall one in the past. This is great in one aspect because I only live 10 - 15 minutes away from the fairgrounds. In another aspect, it sort of worries me. This being due to the negative feelings most people have towards snakes, especially venomous ones. Spartanburg is a city that is still very conservative. A few years ago they had a vote to overturn the "blue laws", of which they were voted to be overturned. City council denied the voice of the voters and kept them intact anyway. This was mainly about being able to sell and purchase alcohol on Sunday. Right now, there is an ordinance that prohibits the possession of venomous snakes within city limits, but allows them in the county. I just hope no one gets the wrong idea about our hobby and pushes the ban of venomous snakes in the entire county! Hopefully not, but this is a worry of mine. I own almost nothing but venomous, lol! Anyway, I am not wishing ill will towards the show at all, just being a bit paranoid is all. You can be sure I will be at the show both days. I try to hit every show that comes within reasonable driving distance for me. I hope to meet some of you guys while I am there. The only person I have ever met is Todd. Well, I guess that is enough rambling for now. I am off to a good hognose spot. Be safe everyone!
