Hey, I was just wondering what has happened to Doug and Bryan? It has been several months since there was any post by them. Hope they are doing well. Best Regards JohnZ

Bryan: Good to see that you are still here, and to learn about your forum. I have learned new things each time you have posted here, and look forward to hearing from you in the future.
And I hope Doug is still out there also. He seemed to drop off after the anonymous folks criticized his job offer at his zoo. I enjoyed hearing Doug's perspective on issues posted here, and hope he will continue posting. Best Regards JohnZ

Doug (AquaHerp) is still alive and well. I know he's swamped being the general curator at the Abilene Zoological Gardens. I actually got that position that he offered on this site! I am having the time of my life getting to work with animals for a living and getting to learn under someone as knowledgable as Doug. But he is alive and around, just very busy with stuff at the zoo. I'm sure he'll be back around the forums soon enough.

Scott: I am really happy to hear that you got the job at the Abilene Zoological Gardens, and are working for Doug ! I started working at the Atlanta Zoo Reptile Department when I was your age, and it was a wonderfull, educational experience. I wish you the best of luck there. Tell Doug to not work too hard, and to drop in on this forum from time to time.
Best Regards JohnZ

Greetings all. Yep, I am still slithering around your midst. It has been a little on the busy end lately but things are beginning to ease up finally. Although I have been dropping in and poking around the forums a little and talking to a couple of folks from here on a few of the subjects.
Let's see......
Work, work, work...mostly mammal related, although we did get some fresh horridus and a couple western cottonmouths in, compliments of Jim Harrison's place in Kentucky (KY Reptile Zoo) mmmmmmm timbers. Groovy snakes, thanks Jim and Kristen!!! And it only cost me (and Scott) a couple dozen or so Crotalus atrox that I had to collect in return....oh the horror of being forced to field collect!!!!!!!!
I did get the pleasure of going out road cruising with Kristen and Matt from Kentucky Reptile Zoo as they came through Abilene on their way west to collect Mojaves. A wonderful evening of conversation, copperheads, rattlesnakes, bullsnakes, and Matt bounding from the back of a pickup in his awesome attempt to subdue a fearsome armadillo!!! Now that was a real treat. Armadillo-1, Matt-0.
And, as noted in the earlier post, Scott (Crotalus Catcher) was hired on at the Zoo and is by far one of the better moves we have made in a long time. Scott adds a lot to our program, as well as being a real great guy to work around. As the entire Herp Department moves ahead in this next year with the opening of the new Herpetarium, Scott is definitely going to be up to his neck in work and we'll see how much he likes it then....LOL (just kidding ya Scott)
Either/Or..I'll make it a point to stop through more regularly, and post more often. But I still won't argue with anyone who hasn't the balls to post a name and has to hide behind "anonymous” because they can't seem to break out of that 13-year-old mentality. LOL, yeah, I had to push that button…LOL
