Hi guys,
All my herps are now at my local natural history museum. I`m having my own reptile expo for a month. I have lots of visitors daily(so far). I had 122 today. Things are looking good. My local natural history museum heard about my collection from some local newspapers and invited me to host a reptile expo. I find this a great way both to educate the public and gain some money for my time and effort. I`m hoping to buy my self a juvenile puff adder after the expo.
Best regards, Alex S.

Thanks guys. I was surprised in the first 5 days by the positive reaction of the general public and the press. I was expecting to hear all kind of negative coments from the public such as: "I was expecting to see huge pythons or anacondas" etc. Fortuntatly I didn`t receive any such comments. In Romania there are 3 firms which have reptile expos. They act pretty much like a circus, travelling from town to town to make money. Theese guys have all the "comercial" reptiles, as was said about display animals at a zoo a few posts back:large cobra, large python, large anaconda, large rattlesnake etc. My intention was to have the only reptile expo that has mostly native species because people here have no ideea what lives in their own back yards. Also, unlike the other guys with expos, I know "a thing or two" about my animals and I ca explain things to people when I get a question. The only negative thing that has happened so far was when a boy walked in to the museum with a dead grass snake(Natrix natrix) in a bag. He killed it and brought it to me, not knowing that my expo was of live reptiles not preserved ones. Anyway, this is what happens when messages are missunderstood.
I`m always glad to have your moral suport guys. Thanks for everything.
Best regards, Alex S.

Good on ya mate! Hopefully you're taking lots of pictures of the visitors. That sort of stuff is gold for the resume but more importantly priceless for your own personal memories ;-)
Cheers ;-)

I will be taking pics of the visitors of course.:) I also had a simillar expo in my hisgh school`s science lab this year in June and I have pics of that one. The thing is that the school expo was only for two days and I only put money into it, nothing out of it. I`ll post some pics of the expo after it`s ended.
Cheers Bryan...
