Hello. I have a friend in Thailand who has an ongoing problem with monacled cobras infiltrating his home. Unfortunately, he lost another of his dogs this past week and is now unsure about how to fix the problem. I remembered that Midwest sells a product called Snake-A-Way, supposedly an effective snake repellant.
Do any of you have any knowledge of this product and if it is effective or not? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Matt: It would probably be worth trying. The product is mostly Naphthalene, which is the same foul smelling ingredient in moth balls. It is very possible that the smell would drive snakes away. I do wonder though, if you could accomplish the same thing at a greatly reduced cost if you just bought moth balls at the local supermarket, and sprinkled them near the entrances of the building. I bet it would be a lot cheaper than the expensive commercial stuff.
On a side note, my great aunt once had a maid who used moth crystals as deoderent! The maid would rub them under her arms! I can remember being a little kid, and visiting my aunt, and the maid who always smelled of moth balls! Best Regards JohnZ

I agree with John. Moth Balls rom the local hardware store will work just as well.
Keep in mind that the snakes are comming there because of a plentiful food supply. This needs to be addressed also to have any hopes of working. Or you can send a bunch of us over to safeguard the house :-)
