Do you have a steady and reliable source of feeder snakes? Coral snakes diet is almost 100% other snakes. That is the reason most people don't keep them as it is very difficult in procuring a reliable food source for them. Coral snakes are also timid creatures that aren't good captives. They are best suited to the advanced keeper who will devote the time and energy to making sure it eats. There are methods to get these snakes to eat alternative foods, but I won't get into that.My suggestion is that if you are enamored with their beauty, why not get a milksnake? Not only are these snakes not venomous, but they are just as beautiful as the coral snakes and they eat mice. In particular, I like the Pueblan milknake as it is not only beautiful but it gets rather robust for a milksnake. Enjoy Coral snakes in the wild, but it is best to leave them be.

Nathan:
Venomous snakes are NOT Pets, no way, no how!!
Coral Snakes are not the easiest to keep in captivity. Many of them die withing a few years of captivity, even when kept by people who I consider experts. Take Frawgg's advice and get a milksnake if you want something for a Pet.
