My Echis sochureki gave birth to 17 live little beasties this morning!! She also had 2 slugs and one stillborn.
I noticed her restlessness yesterday evening but she did not give birth till 6:00 this morning. The mothers must hang around and protect the babies for a few days because she was looking for them after put her back in the cage. I had removed her for a "Head Count" and to clean up the mess.

That is going to be a lot of new mouths to feed !

Thanks! I already have at least 6.6 placed in good homes, so that's a bit fewer mouths to feed. I am flat out crazy with many issues right now but dealing with 6 inches of water in my basement comes first. It seems the company that maintains my furnace forgot to plug my sump pump back in when the outlet was used for his vacuum.
I'll try to get something written up by the weekend.

Echis update:
The mom is still standing guard and was not happy I dropped in to have a look. She took two F/T mice without hesitation tonight but shocked me by actually SAWSCALING at me when she had her mouth full. I've had her for three years now and she has NEVER Sawscaled at me before. She is really a good mom.
