Hey,
keep in mind there are a limited number of spots because of the facilities. brian smith has a signup sheet so anyone who plans to attend needs to contact him beforehand and make sure there's still space.

Hey, The Boss is interested but may not have a car.
She is considering renting one to come up there.
Would you email her the details?

The popularity of the Gopher Tortoise Survey has grown beyond what it is capable of handling at this time in order to collect the data required so the number of participants is strictly limited at this time. This year is a building year and the survey will primarily consist of organizers, researchers, academics, and a select few others. We should be able to streamline the procedures and data collection this year so that it will be open to more people in future years. However, at this time, I am forced to create a list of survey participants and it is primarily on an invitation basis. The list will be given to the park and will be at the check-in desk. Your name or group must be on the Survey List to participate in the survey. There are only a couple spots still available so whoever is interested should send me an email as soon as possible to info@reptileeducation.com. We will review the emails and finalize the list likely by Monday so that we can begin preparations with the park. Those on the list will be contacted to verify.
I realize that limiting participation in a volunteer activity and having to turn away potential volunteers is crappy. But in order for the Survey to accomplish its goals and solidify methods and procedures, this year it must be done. But be assured that all of the interest and participation is greatly appreciated and it should be open to many more volunteers next year.
